Family Meeting with Santa
The highlight of the day! Your family will enjoy a personal meeting with Father Christmas in his cosy log cabin, away from the crowds. Children can share their Christmas wishes and each little one will receive a hand-wrapped gift to take home. A magical, heart-warming experience for kids and parents alike.
Snowmobiling
Adults will take the controls of a snowmobile, gliding across the snowy tracks, while children are safely snuggled into a sled pulled behind. It’s an exciting way for the whole family to share the adventure—everyone gets the thrill, no one misses out.
Husky Sledding
Hold on tight as a team of eager huskies whisk you through the snowy forests. With their excited barks and boundless energy, it’s an authentic Arctic adventure that kids will be talking about long after you return home.
Reindeer Sleigh Ride
Step into Lapland tradition with a gentle ride pulled by reindeer across frozen landscapes. Snuggle under blankets, listen to the sleigh bells, and soak up the peace and quiet of the Arctic wilderness—it’s pure Christmas magic.
Thermal Suits and Boots
No need to worry about Lapland’s Arctic chill - every guest on the Winter Wonderland day trip is provided with a cosy, all-in-one thermal snow suit and boots. They’re easy to slip on over your own layers, so you can focus on the fun rather than the cold. Just bring hats, scarves, and gloves, and you’re ready for a full day of Arctic adventure!
Food & Drink
A warming lunch is included and provides much needed energy. Hot meals are also included on both flights. Usually, breakfast on the outbound flights and dinner on the return flight to the UK.
Faq's
The majority of the day is spent outdoors in the snow and temperatures can plummet to -40°C. Given the extremely cold weather conditions, we generally do not recommend the day trip for infants under the age of 2 since children feel the cold most.
How much snow will there be?
Snow falls in Lapland between October and May and it is common to find thick snow cover in November and December. However, it is also possible that there may be a period of warmer weather, especially given the effects of global warming, which may cause the snow and ice to melt before the next snowfall.
What should I wear?
Temperatures can reach as low as -40°C in the winter and so it is imperative that you bring adequate clothing for the weather and take extra care to ensure children are safely warm. Thermal all-in-one snow suit and snow boots are provided on arrival in Lapland, but you should wear multiple underlayers and bring hats, scarves, gloves and plenty of pairs of socks!
How long is the flight to Lapland?
From our UK departure airports, the flight time is approximately 3 hours 30 minutes to Enontekio Airport in Finland, with no lengthy stopovers in cities like Helsinki or Stockholm
Are Transfers and Luggage Included?
An allowance of 5kg carry-on luggage per person is included which must be kept with you in the cabin. Seamless airport transfers by motorcoach to and from the Winter Wonderland site are included and this is where you will pick up your thermal suits and boots.
