Maldives Holiday Deals

What To Do Once You've Booked

Once you’ve booked your Maldives holiday with Blue Bay Travel, you’ll want to take care of a few administrative tasks. First, print out your ATOL Certificate and double-check the details are correct. This certificate offers financial protection in the event any of the listed ATOL holders cease trading.

Next, get your travel insurance organised. It’s best to buy travel insurance as soon as you’ve made any payments for your trip; that way, you’re covered in case circumstances change and you can’t travel.

It’s also always a good idea to print out hard copies of your booking and flight information to take with you. This way, you have backups in case you can’t get internet access or anything happens to your electronic devices.

You’ll also want to organise any necessary visas. For example, UK travellers will need a visa to travel to the Maldives but not Mauritius, and the Dominican Republic will provide a tourist card on arrival. You should also check the vaccination recommendations and requirements for your destination and schedule any necessary inoculations or booster injections.

Maldives Holidays: FAQ

Every picture of a sun-drenched paradise island you have ever conjured in your mind actually exists. Our collection of all-inclusive Maldives holiday offers should allow you enough options to find that picture-perfect spot you've been daydreaming about. Plus, you'll save an average of 40%, and more. Now, only one important question remains. Beach or Water Villa?

When’s the best time to visit the Maldives?

The Maldives offers year-round warmth and turquoise seas. Peak season is typically from December to April, when days are dry, sunny and perfect for snorkelling or lounging on your villa deck. May to November brings the low season with the odd shower, but you’ll enjoy quieter resorts and great value.

What’s included in a Maldives package holiday?

Our packages are designed for complete ease: flights, luggage, accommodation and transfers are included. Most of our Maldives resorts are all-inclusive, covering meals, drinks and and selected activities, so you can focus on perfecting your sun-lounger technique.

How long is the flight from the UK?

Direct flights from London to Malé, the capital of the Maldives, take around 10–11 hours. Some packages may include a short stopover depending on your chosen airline. From Malé, you’ll transfer by speedboat or seaplane to your island resort — an adventure in itself.

Do I need a visa or any special travel documents?

UK travellers don’t need a visa for holidays of up to 30 days in the Maldives, but your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival. You will be required to complete a health declaration form known as an IMUGA. See the FCO advicefor the most up to date information.

Which Maldives atolls are best for couples, families or first-timers?

Couples: Baa Atoll for secluded luxury and manta ray encounters, Noonu Atoll for private hideaways, and Raa Atoll for dreamy lagoons and romantic escapes.
Families: South Malé Atoll for easy transfers and kids’ clubs, Lhaviyani Atoll for spacious family villas and calm lagoons, and North Ari Atoll and South Ari Atoll for dolphin cruises and family-friendly snorkelling.
First-timers: North Malé Atoll for quick transfers and classic Maldives vibes, South Malé Atoll for an easy mix of value and luxury, and South Ari Atoll for whale sharks, mantas and a true taste of paradise.

Can I still book a last-minute deal?

Definitely. We have a rotating collection of last-minute holidays — ideal if you’re craving barefoot luxury sooner rather than later. Availability can be limited in peak months, so if you see your dream villa at the right price, grab it quickly.

How far in advance should I book?

For the best choice of villas and the lowest prices, it’s best to book your Maldives escape 6 to 9 months in advance, especially if travelling in peak season (December–April). Last-minute deals do pop up, but popular resorts often sell out fast.
