Bringing Pounds for Douglas Macmillan Hospice
The Douglas Macmillan Hospice set themselves the challenge of raising lots of pounds in the aptly named Bring A Pound Day. It’s as logical as the name suggests – bring a pound. The result? There will be many, many pounds to help do good for their incredible cause.
The Douglas Macmillan Hospice provides free hospice services to adults with life limiting illnesses in the North Staffordshire area, providing supportive care to individuals, families, and carers wherever and whenever it’s needed. The Dougie Mac is close to the hearts of us all at Blue Bay Travel so we jumped on board to help them in their quest of getting as many shiny pounds (and even the not so shiny ones) all the in the name of a truly worthy cause.
We headed down to the local Tesco to team up with other budding volunteers to collect all of the pounds from passing shoppers who wanted to get involved. Bayley was a huge hit. He wooed the shopped with his furry prowess to get people digging deep for those golden nuggets. We had a great time and as the saying goes… every little helps.
Back at Blue Bay HQ, the pounds were rolling in (pun intended). What’s more, Bayley found himself in a regal position as the face of a massive pound! All in the name of spreading the pound love!
All in all, it was an incredible day with the Douglas Macmillian Hospice raising a whopping £63,000 so far and the total continues to rise. Cue power fist! We were chuffed to bits to be part of the day and do to a little to help such a great cause.
