Entrancing Delights of Bajan Hospitality

It's was a Friday morning and we were Barbados Bound! It was with excitement and honour for me that I had the chance to experience this trip, but with some trepidation due to leaving my family unit. It has been 17 years since I last went ‘long haul’ and having had many short haul flights encompassing the joys of the rather more cramped charter and low cost airlines, our outbound British Airways flight was a treat.

Colony Club by Elegant Hotels

Although bereft to leave Tamarind behind, as we ventured on with our Barbados exploration we found the warmest of welcomes, and more than one stunning sunset, at Colony Club by Elegant Hotels. A hotel of great beauty, effortless grace, and fantastic home-recipe rum punch, we found ourselves equally as enamored with the Elegant Hotels experience in our newest home away from home.

Barbados Diary #4: Sunsets and Snorkelling at Colony Club

The second place we called home was Colony Club by Elegant Hotels. As soon as we arrived we were greeted with the obligatory rum punch and smiles that defined a typically Bajan greeting, and set about discovering the ins and outs of our new base of operations. Colony Club has a character all of its own, different from Tamarind but noticeably its sister in the crystalline attention to detail and organic elegance found in everything from the table arrangements to the passionate distribution of colour throughout the gardens. But where Tamarind seemed to relish the daylight, a certain majesty descended onto Colony Club with the setting of the sun.
