What can I say? It's work! I was invited by my Director to represent our company at the Karisma Awards 2010 in Mexico which took place at their El Dorado Royale property in Mexico’s Riviera Maya. With more than a mile of sandy beach and all the luxuries you can dream of, combined with an emphasis on personal attention to your every whim, this was an ideal opportunity for me to experience a luxury 5* Adults Only all inclusive holiday and at the same time, to collect our award.

The transfer was waiting for us when we exited the airport and the ride to the hotel only took 50 minutes, the roads in Barbados are brilliant for the Caribbean, not bumpy and they drive on the same side as us. Upon arrival a welcome drink awaited us, and as the hotel is a premium all inclusive there were no silly wrists band stating you are on all inclusive. The bell boy shows us to our room with a quick tour on route.

We checked in at Gatwick’s North Terminal for our flight to Barbados. Needless to say, I was excited at having been upgraded to British Airways’ Club World. My Club World experience started smoothly, no check-in queues, cases tagged and dispatched within minutes and then directed to the executive lounge to relax before the flight.
