How do we book?
Call one of our travel advisors on 0844 488 3797 and they will guide you through every step of the way. We have some great wedding and honeymoon offers for you and your guests to ensure your special day fulfils your dreams.
How do we organise the wedding?
Once you have confirmed the booking and received all of your documents, we’ll put you in-touch with an on-site wedding co-ordinator who will make sure your dream wedding comes true and will organise all of the over-seas arrangements. A UK based wedding co-ordinator will also be on hand to answer all of your queries and to work with the hotel to fulfil your wishes.
How do we organise the guests?
Your guests can be added when you book the wedding initially, or you can add them leading up to the wedding. We recommend sending your invites out at least 6 months before the wedding date, and finalising this at around 3 months. We will do our upmost to ensure that everyone can be there for your Big Day. For those wishing to stay off-site, day passes can be purchased so they can attend on the day of the Wedding.

Getting married overseas will be one of the most magical moments of your life, and we’re here to make sure every tiny detail is perfect so you don’t need to worry. The legal bits are extremely important and sometimes a little bit confusing but booking with us will ensure it’s all an absolute dream.

Here are some of the key bits of information you need to know when you decide to marry abroad -these aren’t the only places you can tie the knot with Blue Bay Travel, there are many more places to choose from around the globe.

Antigua has no minimum residency requirements prior to your wedding ceremony.


Barbados has no minimum residency requirements prior to your wedding ceremony.


There is a minimum residency of requirement of three working days in Cyprus. If you are having a hotel ceremony, you must be a resident of that particular hotel for the three-day period. If your ceremony is taking place in in somewhere other than the hotel, you can choose which hotel you stay in from a list of resorts specified in your wedding package.

Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic has a three-day minimum residency requirement and all documentation needs to be processed before the ceremony including a marriage licence. We suggest arriving five working days before your wedding day and apply for your legal documents at least 6 months in advance of the wedding.


There is a minimum residency requirement of eight days for parts of Greece (Zante, Skiathos, Crete, Rhoades) and seven for Santorini and Kos. If you are getting married at a hotel, you must be a resident at a hotel for this time period.


Jamaica has a 48-hour residency requirement (excluding Sundays and arrival days).


You cannot legally marry in the Maldives, but you could get married in the UK or other destination and then have a blessing ceremony and honeymoon here.


There is no minimum residency requirement in Mauritius, although you will need to visit the Civil State Office in Port Louis to complete any legal formalities before the wedding can take place.


In Mexico, all documentation must be handed over to Mexican authorities at least three working days before your ceremony. The bride and group must take a blood test in resort before the ceremony. Divorced women must wait a period of 12 months before they can re-marry. Divorced men can re-marry straight away.

Saint Lucia

Saint Lucia has a three working days residency requirement.


There is no minimum resident requirement for Turkey. For all hotel-based weddings, you must stay in the hotel prior to the ceremony. You must both have a blood test prior to your wedding taking place.
