Carly Cockburn

Personal Travel Consultant

Working in travel has always been on my radar. I left college and went straight into flying the world as Cabin Crew which is where I caught the travel bug. I got to see amazing places which I wouldn’t have thought to visit. Working in the industry has opened my eyes to different cultures and ways of life, I love being able to provide those experiences for others.

In a nutshell.

  • Describe yourself in three words: Adventurous, empathetic, organised.
  • Catchphrase: “Absolutely, no problem!” Also, my son calls me crazy and my response is “The best people are!”
  • Likes: Travelling, of course. Walking or hiking with my husband, our 2 children and our labrador. Summer days picnicking at the beach. Winter nights around a fire pit with hot chocolate.
  • Hidden talent: I can't think of anything.
  • Lesser-known fact about you: I have trekked 2 of the most scenic hikes in the world, Everest Base Camp in Nepal and the Inca Trail in Peru. Although, most people do know this. But I try not to tell people that I got altitude sickness on both treks!
  • Best feeling in the world: Watching my children’s eyes light up when they see new parts of the world for the first time, I’m lucky I get to experience these things with them.
  • Favourite snack: Granny Smith apples dipped in peanut butter.
  • What type of hat best describes your personality: I would say a cowboy hat because it’s always ready for the next adventure as well as being strong, sturdy and loyal.
  • If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why: I’d like to be able to fly to save sitting on airplanes for hours and to contribute to zero emissions!
  • Best holiday you’ve ever had: I’m super lucky to have travelled a lot but my best ever holiday was a 3-month road trip through Eastern Canada and America with my 2 children, who were 1 and 3 at the time. We got to see so many different areas of the USA and realised how diverse the country is, we ended on the California coast so we were able to relax at the end of it all.
