This included men, women and children. Bougainvilleas are widely-grown and popular tropical vines whose main attractions are very <strong>colourful bracts or leaves.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These bracts are commonly mistaken by many as the flowers of the plant because of their prominence, when in fact the flowers are actually the small, white trumpet-like inconspicuous flowers surrounded by the bracts.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The plant originates from South America, in the regions around Brazil, Peru and Argentina. Today they grown in tropical areas of the Caribbean, as well as the Mediterranean, Mexico, Australia, Hawaii and many others. <strong>The French botanist, Philbert Commerson discovered the plant and names it after his friend, Captain Louis A.
