There&#8217;s a range of surf spots across Lanzarote for surfers of all levels.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever time you find yourself in Lanzarote, you can enjoy the surf. However September up to December is preferred by the advanced surfers due to the bigger waves.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Beginners often sway towards Famara beach as the waves are calmer. You will also find surf schools on the beach, so if you are looking to start out you can rent their equipment. It&#8217;s also divided into several different surf spots. The centre area of the beach if where new starters can head to, whereas the experienced surfers can make their way to San Juan where the waves are fast and powerful.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, El Quemao is home to the island&#8217;s most famous wave. Lanzarote is actually known as one of the best places in Europe for its diving!<\/p>\n<p>With stunning underwater settings and a whole biodiversity waiting to be discovered. The calm and warm waters set the perfect scene for any diver, new or experienced.<\/p>\n<p>Undoubtedly the <b>Museum Atlantico,<\/b> an underwater museum, is a must see on your dive list! As Europe&#8217;s only underwater museum, this unique site has different experiences available depending on your level. If you don&#8217;t have diving license, there is still the opportunity to dive around the museum.<\/p>\n<p>Puerto Del Carmen, Playa Chicha is thought have some of the best dive sites in Lanzarote. One of the most famous dives is the Blue Hole. The trade winds on the island make it an amazing spot for windsurfing practice.<\/p>\n<p>Playa Las Cucharas in Costa Teguise is the most popular spot for wind propelled sports in Lanzarote. With several schools and wind surf shops, help is around if you need it! The PWA World Windsurfing Tour has also stopped off in Costa Teguise too in previous years.<\/p>\n<p>For those looking to try out a new sport and are looking towards windsurfing, kitesurfing is a great alternative and easier to learn. Similar to surfing, Famara beach is a hotspot for learners. Well, Lanzarote is home to the Volcano Triathlon, the oldest triathlon race in Spain! Since 1984 this race has been held by Club La Santa and welcomes everyone, even World Champions.<\/p>\n<p>Swim, bike and run your way to the finish line.&nbsp; If you finish within the top ten, you can win a cash prize, and every participant receives a t-shirt and a medal &#8211; how about that?!<\/p>\n<p>You start off the race with a 1,5km swim in a salt water lagoon at Club La Santa. Then, a one 40km loop course on your bike which also ends at Club La Santa.
