While flying in economy class is not without its merits, a well-planned <strong>flight upgrade<\/strong> can really take\u00a0your holiday to the <strong>next level<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Many of our <strong>best value<\/strong> holiday packages come via the wings of\u00a0Thomas Cook, and the company&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bluebaytravel.co.uk\/blog\/2015\/03\/the-reinvention-of-thomas-cook-new-premium-cabins-thatll-have-you-lost-for-words\/?blg\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">new premium cabins<\/span><\/a> have caused\u00a0quite a stir. In order to get my head around the hype I recently flew on the new premium service, and I can definitely put my recommendation behind a premium upgrade. You get a <strong>wider seat<\/strong>\u00a0(<span style=\"color: #666666;\">19.7 inches)\u00a0<\/span>with an <strong>excellent seat pitch<\/strong> (<span style=\"color: #666666;\">35 inches)<\/span>, and a funky little flip-down <strong>footrest<\/strong> for your feet. You\u2019ve got enough space to spread out, so there\u2019ll be no elbow fights or ankle skirmishes. Good news for long-haul fliers.<\/p>\n<p>That extra seat pitch also makes catching a little sleep a lot easier, and the ear-flaps on the headrest offer\u00a0just enough neck support for some <strong>tactical shut-eye<\/strong>. Many holidaymakers have great difficulty falling asleep on aeroplanes, and these little extras are invaluable in the campaign against transatlantic tiredness. I certainly napped like the proverbial baby.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Get_hydrated\"><\/span>Get hydrated<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>One of the best perks of the Thomas Cook premium service is the<strong> unlimited stream of beverages<\/strong> that are built into the price. There are a range of <strong>soft<\/strong> and <strong>alcoholic<\/strong> drinks that are included in the cost\u00a0of your premium cabin seat, so you can have yourselves a little <strong>box social<\/strong> as you travel. You\u2019ll even get a <strong>welcome drink of prosecco<\/strong> (or orange juice) shortly after you board the aircraft.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Get_entertained\"><\/span>Get entertained<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>A premium seat with Thomas Cook comes with a catalogue of <strong>extra\u00a0films<\/strong> to ensure that even the longest of flights is packed with <strong>top entertainment possibilities<\/strong>. What impressed me the most with the film selection was\u00a0the variety. Not only were there <strong>loads\u00a0of films<\/strong>, the\u00a0films spanned\u00a0<strong>several years<\/strong> of releases. During my flight I could watch\u00a0the family-friendly guffaw-fest <em>Madagascar 3,<\/em>\u00a0the not-so-family-friendly Tarantino masterpiece <em>Django Unchained, <\/em> and everything in between. Something for everyone, truth be told.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-17161\" src=\"https:\/\/blogimg.bluebaytravel.co.uk\/uploads\/2015\/10\/tcx-p4.jpg\" alt=\"tcx-p4\" width=\"800\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bluebaytravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/tcx-p4.jpg 800w, https:\/\/bluebaytravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/tcx-p4-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Get_stuffed\"><\/span>Get stuffed<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Aeroplane food has a bit of a reputation for being a little naff, but you can jettison those preconceptions with the new <strong>James Martin meals<\/strong> in the Thomas Cook premium cabin. Thomas Cook has\u00a0kicked things up a notch with recipes ranging from Masamam Chicken Curry to Red Wine Beef Marinades, backed up with\u00a0an <strong>indulgent afternoon tea<\/strong> complete with a\u00a0<strong>scone<\/strong>\u00a0and a <strong>miniature sponge cake<\/strong>. It\u2019s awfully civilised, don\u2019t you know.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Get_more\"><\/span>Get\u00a0more<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Everyone flying in the premium cabin will receive an <strong>amenity kit<\/strong> stuffed with <strong>tactical enhancements<\/strong> that will make your journey even smoother:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 \u00a0 An <strong>eye mask<\/strong> to herd you into the land of nod<br \/>\n\u2022 \u00a0 <strong>Ear plugs<\/strong> to help you forget the world<br \/>\n\u2022 \u00a0 <strong>Toothbrush<\/strong> to keep you minty fresh<br \/>\n\u2022 \u00a0 <strong>Flight socks<\/strong> to keep them toes nice and warm<br \/>\n\u2022 \u00a0 A <strong>cosy blanket<\/strong> to keep you warm from all angles<\/p>\n<p>The kit itself also doubles-up as a <strong>shoulder-slung lunch bag<\/strong>, or a general carry bag for your holiday essentials.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Televisual_evidence\"><\/span>Televisual evidence<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Wordsmithery has its uses, but sometimes the eyes need to get a better\u00a0feel of what to expect.
