In order to vouch for their much-spoken\u00a0gloriousness we decided to send out the <a href=\"https:\/\/bluebaytravel.co.uk\/in-focus\" target=\"_blank\">InFocus video crew<\/a>\u00a0to do some recon. This is the story from the cruise stretch of their adventure, as seen though the eyes of Martyn. This was perfect for me, being\u00a0my first time taking to the high seas on a cruise ship, and I&#8217;d say it\u2019s ideal for anyone <strong>new to cruising<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s <strong>loads to do on-ship<\/strong>, with restaurants, bars, theatres, kids clubs, an adults only chill out area called Serenity, and a spa all on tap. If you\u2019re after something a little more energetic, try your hand at basketball, dodgeball, mini golf, snooker, table football, table tennis and more, all conveniently located in the<strong> Sports Square<\/strong>. The whole area has a sky walk surrounding it with signposts logging distance milestones for walks and runs, should you wish to keep tabs on your cardio credentials.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/caribbeanwarehouse.co.uk\/southbeachmexicocruiseandstay.php?blg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15975 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blogimg.bluebaytravel.co.uk\/uploads\/2015\/05\/sports-filming.jpg\" alt=\"sports-filming\" width=\"800\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bluebaytravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/sports-filming.jpg 800w, https:\/\/bluebaytravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/sports-filming-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The<strong> food court<\/strong> was open at breakfast, lunch and dinner for ad hoc munching. The food arsenal <strong>changed daily<\/strong>, encompassing salads, burritos, pizzas, hotdogs and infinitely more deliciousness. <a href=\"https:\/\/caribbeanwarehouse.co.uk\/southbeachmexicocruiseandstay.php?blg\" target=\"_blank\">Carnival Cruise Lines&#8217;<\/a>\u00a0most famous eatery is<strong> Guy\u2019s Burger Joint<\/strong>, a joint project with\u00a0Guy Fieri of \u201cDiners, Drive-Ins and Dives\u201d fame. No one can watch Guy\u2019s shows without salivating uncontrollably, and now we had a chance to try <strong>classic American burgers<\/strong> inspired by the man himself. They didn&#8217;t disappoint, those juicy morsels of meaty goodness. <strong>Nomtastic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>We rounded off our day at sea with a <strong>Dive in Movie<\/strong> at 10:00pm, another unique experience you can only pocket with <a href=\"https:\/\/caribbeanwarehouse.co.uk\/southbeachmexicocruiseandstay.php?blg\" target=\"_blank\">Carnival Cruise Lines<\/a>. You can catch a film on a big screen from\u00a0the pool or a\u00a0sun lounger, and you can get your chops around <strong>truckloads<\/strong> of <strong>free popcorn<\/strong>, which is a nice touch. We were treated to \u201cThe Fault in Our Stars\u201d, and <a href=\"https:\/\/caribbeanwarehouse.co.uk\/southbeachmexicocruiseandstay.php?blg\" target=\"_blank\">Carnival Cruises Lines<\/a> have a bunch of other <strong>modern films<\/strong> in their repertoire. It\u2019s the best way to end the day.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/caribbeanwarehouse.co.uk\/southbeachmexicocruiseandstay.php?blg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15972 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blogimg.bluebaytravel.co.uk\/uploads\/2015\/05\/ship-facilities.jpg\" alt=\"ship-facilities\" width=\"800\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bluebaytravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/ship-facilities.jpg 800w, https:\/\/bluebaytravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/ship-facilities-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"First_stop_Jamaica\"><\/span>First stop, Jamaica.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>We loved the ship, but we were super excited to dock in Jamaica and trek out to <strong>Dunn\u2019s River Falls<\/strong>. We met our guide Jermaine who delivered us to Dunn\u2019s River Falls via the scenic route.\u00a0He sang to us, told us about Jamaican history, and generally entertained us like a true gent.<\/p>\n<p>We were overwhelmed with the <strong>natural beauty<\/strong> of the place and we couldn&#8217;t wait to get stuck in. The classic thing to do at Dunn\u2019s River Falls is to <strong>climb the stair-like stones<\/strong>\u00a0beneath the cascade of water, and that\u2019s exactly what we did. There are two routes: one halfway up (the \u201cwhirlpool\u201d entrance) and one\u00a0at\u00a0the mouth on the beachfront for a<strong> full-on Bear Grylls ascension experience<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/caribbeanwarehouse.co.uk\/southbeachmexicocruiseandstay.php?blg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15968 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blogimg.bluebaytravel.co.uk\/uploads\/2015\/05\/dunns-river-falls.jpg\" alt=\"dunns-river-falls\" width=\"800\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bluebaytravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/dunns-river-falls.jpg 800w, https:\/\/bluebaytravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/dunns-river-falls-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Our climb guide, Tamisha, insisted we sampled\u00a0the whole experience, promising us the <strong>thrill of our lives<\/strong>. She pushed us to keep our spirits high, and the adrenaline was unmatched. What&#8217;s great about the falls climb is that your\u00a0guide will tailor the route based on how comfortable you are, \u00a0and\u00a0ultimately make sure you\u00a0<strong>safely enjoy<\/strong> the <strong>best experience possible<\/strong>. Tamisha even managed to catch a wild shrimp with her bare hands half way up! She was a machine! She\u2019s also proud to be the only female guide, and we can&#8217;t imagine climbing with anyone else.<\/p>\n<p>Reaching the top bestowed an <strong>exhilarating flood of achievement<\/strong>. The elation of the whole journey was completely overwhelming, and we <strong>buzzed<\/strong> from our little expedition. Dunn\u2019s River Falls is an absolute must if you\u2019re in Jamaica.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/caribbeanwarehouse.co.uk\/southbeachmexicocruiseandstay.php?blg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15969 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blogimg.bluebaytravel.co.uk\/uploads\/2015\/05\/dunns-river-park.jpg\" alt=\"dunns-river-park\" width=\"800\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bluebaytravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/dunns-river-park.jpg 800w, https:\/\/bluebaytravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/dunns-river-park-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Second_stop_Grand_Cayman\"><\/span>Second stop, Grand Cayman<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Our next stop (and final port of call before disembarking in Cozumel) was <strong>Grand Cayman<\/strong>, and we\u2019d heard that sociable <strong>stingrays<\/strong> were on the agenda.<\/p>\n<p>We had a private tour with Epic Tours, and our guides Pete and Charlotte were incredible. We were headed to <strong>Stingray City<\/strong> where you can swim with <strong>wild stingrays<\/strong>, so we hit the ocean on their lush catamaran. The seascapes around Grand Cayman take your holiday to a <strong>whole other level<\/strong>. They\u2019re like something taken from a PC wallpaper; something so <strong>flawlessly beautiful<\/strong> your eyes almost reject the reality of the situation. I&#8217;d never seen water so perfectly clear! The stingray residents of Stingray City are surprisingly tame, having learned to <strong>cohabitate<\/strong> with the fisherman in the area. They\u2019ll happily swim right up to you, and even let you hold them in the water. This doesn\u2019t hurt or distress the stingrays in any way, and they seemed to get a kick out of <strong>socialising with us landlubbers<\/strong>. They have the strangest textured skin (mushroom-like underneath and sandpaper-esque on-top) and lacking teeth they\u2019ve been known to hand out the occasional <strong>\u201clovebite\u201d<\/strong> to unsuspecting adventures. How cheeky!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/caribbeanwarehouse.co.uk\/southbeachmexicocruiseandstay.php?blg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15973 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blogimg.bluebaytravel.co.uk\/uploads\/2015\/05\/stingray.jpg\" alt=\"stingray\" width=\"800\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bluebaytravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/stingray.jpg 800w, https:\/\/bluebaytravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/stingray-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Back on the ship we found ourselves with an hour to kill, so we went straight to the <strong>Skycourse<\/strong> where we harnessed-up and hit the ropes to walk where no holidaymaker had walked before (sort of). The skycourse is essentially a walkway high up on the ship where you can get an eyefull\u00a0of\u00a0the local vistas. Tina (our <a href=\"https:\/\/bluebaytravel.co.uk\/in-focus\" target=\"_blank\">InFocus<\/a> presenter) is scared of heights, but the wee\u00a0trooper made it across with the help of Drew, our valiant instructor. She walked through her fear and felt such a sense of <strong>achievement<\/strong> at the end. To celebrate we headed to the <strong>Waterworks<\/strong> water park, where we climbed to the highest point of the ship and raced down the <strong>helter skelter slide<\/strong>. It was the best life, and the best end to the island-hopping leg of this <a href=\"https:\/\/caribbeanwarehouse.co.uk\/southbeachmexicocruiseandstay.php?blg\" target=\"_blank\">epic cruise &amp; stay adventure<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/caribbeanwarehouse.co.uk\/southbeachmexicocruiseandstay.php?blg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15971 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blogimg.bluebaytravel.co.uk\/uploads\/2015\/05\/people-in-distance.jpg\" alt=\"people-in-distance\" width=\"800\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bluebaytravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/people-in-distance.jpg 800w, https:\/\/bluebaytravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/people-in-distance-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<em>So, that&#8217;s the\u00a0cruising\u00a0done.
