Bringing Pounds for Douglas Macmillan Hospice

Posted in Charity by Katie on

The Douglas Macmillan Hospice set themselves the challenge of raising lots of pounds in the aptly named Bring A Pound Day. It’s as logical as the name suggests – bring a pound. The result? There will be many, many pounds to help do good for their incredible cause. The Dougie Mac is close to us all at Blue Bay Travel so we jumped on board to help them in their quest of getting as many shiny pounds (and even the not so shiny ones) all the in the name of a truly worthy cause.

Finest Playa Mujeres Charity Auction: A Holiday that Made the World a Better Place

Posted in Charity by Tom on

In partnership with our friends at the Excellence Group, we auctioned off a 7 night all inclusive stay for 2 adults at the brand new Finest Playa Mujeres in Mexico to raise some well-needed funds for our buddies at Reuben's Retreat. It's a charity aspiring to create a support facility for the families of terminally ill children, and we jump at any opportunity for the world of travel to help make the planet a better place. Last time you heard the trials and tribulations of Amy, Nicola, and Steph, and here are three more of the team who are rising to the challenge for Reuben

It’s been a few weeks since we started our stint of giving up our favourite things for 40 days and 40 nights in order to raise money for Reuben’s Retreat. They’ve been long weeks, full of cravings and wistful glances through the kitchen cupboards, but the Blue Bay team are a tough bunch at heart. We’re now the champions of a good cause, so everyone is doing their best to muscle through the hankerings, and our sights are firmly set on that £1,500 target. Here’s what some of the team have to say about their time of depravity, and why it’s worth the struggle

Give Up Something For Reuben: Watch us squirm as we give up our favourite things in aid of Reuben’s Retreat

Posted in Charity by Lauren on

So, last week we held our end of year meeting (postponed from December due to various Mexico-based shenanigans), during which we launched Reuben's Retreat as our new charity partner. We're giving up our favourite things for 40 days and 40 nights (any resemblance to Lent is purely coincidental). We're a gluttonous bunch and this is no mean feat; between us we're giving up our beloved chocolate, sweets, cakes, crisps, take-aways, coffee, wine and even meat!
