The Emirates Experience

Tracey welcomed us as we arrived at Birmingham Airport for our day with Emirates Airlines, and we had the pleasure of holding an informative chat about upcoming changes to the airport. A new runway extension is due to be finalised by Spring 2014, allowing for flights traveling even further afield to exciting destinations such as Sydney and India!

Hot Tip: You can fly to over 422 worldwide destinations with more than 20 carriers from Birmingham Airport, and over summer they have a “Sky Side” FREE interactive play experience for children.

The Impressive A380

Shortly afterwards we had the pleasure of meeting Phil, a representative from Emirates Airline, who gave us loads of exciting information. Emirates now have 2 flights a day from Birmingham to Dubai, as well as departures from Gatwick, Heathrow, Manchester, Glasgow and Newcastle – so there are plenty of choices.

Hot Tip: The new Emirates A380 is due to fly the route Dubai – Mauritius, so you will be able to take the A380 from the UK straight through to Mauritius!

Diane Enjoying the 33″ Pitch

Sampling the Emirates Lounge for some lunch was just fantastic! The bar had full international service including champagne, wine, and a selection of spirits – all on tap! We were able to choose from an extensive menu of hot and cold gourmet dishes prepared by their onsite chef, so I opted for sausage and mash which went down a treat, followed by profiteroles, which were quite possibly the best profiteroles ever!

From here we went to view the Emirates B777, and I have to say I was very impressed! A nice 33 inch seat pitch was a welcome feature in Economy, and the refined Business class looked amazing. It’s definitely on my to do list!

Here are some more of the awesome things we found around the A380:

Not your average food!
Exceptional seating arrangements
Plenty of space to get around
